Just picked up on Saturn's new social network site imSaturn. Great move for a great brand. Others will probably take their lead no doubt. The really notable play on this new site is that Saturn chose to use Ning as their social network platform. Great move Ning team! Can't wait for more social brands to join the revolution. Certainly there are tons of implications and a world of learning to explore for any brave brands willing to take the plunge. Using Ning seems like a very logical approach to get going.
Hopefully with the continued work of OpenSocial, OpenID and other portability standards, we will all enjoy flexibility in wiring up these pioneers into the social-sphere.

2010 and water powered fuel cells

Wow! Just read about Samsung's plan for water powered fuel cells being supplied into cell phones perhaps by as early as 2010. Here's a schematic from the site.
While I find this to be totally fitting for 2010 - even though we probably won't yet make it back to Jupiter to rescue HAL and the Odyssey - I can't resist some wisecrack observations - hence the reason for this frivolous post.
1) The thought of hydrogen power from these water based cells needs to be tested against the smoking population. Perhaps this is not so much a concern as a feature set ;-)
2) Someone will surely present a feature enhancement whereby these phones can be turned into water pistols.
3) If I were one of the bottled water companies out there, I would surely be running toward a marketing deal with Samsung quickly; the Aquafina phone, the Propel phone.
4) Of course, the traditional battery guys need to get in on this act - Watergizer, Everthirsty.
Ok Ok I'll stop. No need to blogitate further.

Flying - again
Haven't been flying much lately. However, I was really relieved that @dTech wasn't last week. As a 2 million miler on American and being a DFW resident methinks I surely would have been hosed.
Writing this blogitation from the terminal A Admiral's club and all is quiet on the American front this Tuesday morning after FAA wiring harness MD80 shutdown week. The gals at the Admiral's club desk appear tired but very relieved to have last week over with.
I just wonder why Congress didn't have the FAA (other words can be substituted for their real name if you want) in testimonial seats last week trying to explain why THEY disrupted millions of people and cost the airlines millions of $$$. Wake up boys and girls - get this agency under control or kill it and get a new one.
As far as the gals at the Admiral's club are concerned - they summed up everything quite nicely this a.m. - regarding Delta and Northworst (not misspelled) their quote was "thank god - someone else can now be #1"
Gotta go board my newly wired MD80. I feel really safe knowing that those bands are exactly 1" apart and not 1.25" apart.
Yup - Something Special in the Air!!
Happy Blogitating.

Happy Birthday Blog

Today the "other" Queen Elizabeth is celebrating her birthday. They're both the same age and born in the same month. This birthday girl Elizabeth was born first, hence the other Queen was named after her we think ;-)
This Queen is my mom - Loretta Elizabeth and she is a very young 82 today!
Happy Birthday Mom

iProtest the iTrademark iDispute against iGotham going green
As a fanboy retread (this is the second love affair with Cupertino in my life), I love and worship all things from the Steve. My early years date back to 1984 when I took a night job just to sell the first Macs on the planet. In fact, I cherish to this day my 4 foot long poster of the gloved hand from the launch - "Test Drive A Mac" it says. Today its all about MacBooks, Minis, iPhones, iYada, iYada, iYada.
However, I must launch a mild iProtest at his eminence. Pull the iLawyers off of the great Gotham City or the iBatman might slap you silly dude.
What's all the fuss about? Well apparently the hallowed halls in the Coop have decided to protest the "Big Apple's" new green logo citing trademark infringement.
Dude just take a good iLook with your iEyes. Give iGotham a break.
